當教材第一集念完時，請開始進行這一系列
的英文笑話，屬延伸閱讀，非做不可。
延伸閱讀的生字，只須挑重點單字背，而且必須
先在〔有聲字典〕裡把聲音聽熟再背。
因為沒有有聲書可以聽，所以這些單字不好記，
且易忘。只挑重點單字背即可。
很多讀者告訴我，起初他們完全看不出笑點在哪。
但繼續念教材，並且看了多篇之後，就越來越看得懂。
The Blind Date 相親
After being with his blind date all evening,
the man couldn't take another minute with
her. Earlier, he had secretly arranged to
have a friend call him to the phone so he
would have an excuse to leave if something
like this happened.
When he returned to the table, he lowered
his eyes, put on a grim expression and said,
"I have some bad news. My grandfather just died."
"Thank heavens," his date replied. "If yours
hadn't, mine would have had to!"
